BBPi, Beaglebone Black Rev D

 

Beaglebone-BlackD (BB-PI)is totally hardware compatible with BeagleBone-Black which is the most popular development board for developers and the avid hobbyist.

It is a lower cost, high expansion focused BeagleBoard® using a low cost Sitara AM3358BZCZ100 Cortex A8 ARM processor from Texas Instruments. The board boots Linux in under 10sec and the user can get started on development in less than 5min with just a single USB cable.

The BB Pi is design to replace as much as possible Beagbone Black. It has the most same placement as like Beagbone Black, so the user can migrate their projects to the BB Pi directly without any changes for their shells or accessories.

2.1 Modify position 1: PMIC

Note:

  1. There is no battery management chip on board so BB Pi can not support battery function and the test points TP5, TP6, TP7, TP8 are removed from BB Pi
  2. Since the DCDC regulator is fixed output so that BB Pi cannot be adjusted power consumption dynamically, and it is design to get the best performance running.
  3. The PWR_BUT only can be used as a NMI Key.
  4. Firmware should be updated to support these changes or some features will fail.

2.2 Modify position 2: The ALPS/ SCHA5B0200 is EOL

Cause: The PMIC cannot be purchased without delivery date
